Ottawa – True Sport would like to congratulate University of Ottawa Gee-Gees Football players Sébastien Tetreault, Cyril Adjeitey and Chayce Elliott on being named 2009 Ontario University Athletics All-Stars. These outstanding athletes have demonstrated a commitment to the pursuit of athletic excellence, while also taking action to help sport live up to its potential as a powerful force for good in their community.

All three players took part in the Gee-Gees True Sport Varsity Program which promotes the Principles of True Sport: Go For It, Play Fair, Respect Others, Keep it Fun, Stay Healthy, and Give Back. As part of this program these True Sport Champions visited local high schools to share their experiences and inspire the next generation of young athletes. 

"As members of the True Sport Movement, the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees Football Team has committed to giving back to their community. The team’s desire to develop strong, well-rounded athletes on and off the playing field while making a positive contribution to the community is exactly what the True Sport Movement is all about,” said Karri Dawson, Director, Community Engagement, True Sport. “Congratulations to Sébastien, Cyril and Chayce whose leadership has extended well beyond the football field.”

The True Sport Champions Program supports the works of committed volunteers, athletes and community leaders who care about the quality of the sport experience offered in their communities and want to make a positive impact. By providing True Sport Champions with the tools and resources to effect change, Champions are empowered to offer simple ideas and support others in living True Sport within their communities.
