- As of August 16, 2010, there are 2063 members of the True Sport Movement, an increase of more than 380 new members since June 2009. Of these, 149 are municipalities who are declared True Sport Communities including:

- Since issuing the challenge to communities across Canada to join True Sport in conjunction with the launch of the True Sport Report on November 6, 2008, 71 new communities have become members.
- Since presenting during the FCM Conference opening plenary session in June 2009, more than 65 municipalities across Canada have been in direct contact with True Sport staff for support in drafting a resolution, learning more about True Sport and/or how to integrate True Sport in their communities.
- This has resulted in 50 municipalities passing resolution to join True Sport. The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) and Big City Mayors’ Caucus (BCMC) both passed a resolution to join the True Sport Movement.
- To date, 9 of the 22 BCMC cities have joined True Sport and 5 others are progressing towards a municipal resolution.

- In April of 2009, following a presentation by True Sport at their annual meeting, the Association of Yukon Communities passed a resolution to join True Sport and each of its members committed to having their respective Councils consider a resolution to join.
- By June 4, 2009, the Yukon Territory achieved 100% community membership in the True Sport Movement – the first province or territory to do so.
- In December of 2009, the Federation of PEI Municipalities passed resolution to join True Sport and is encouraging municipalities across the Island to follow suit in the wake of the province having successfully hosted the 2009 Canada Summer Games.
- True Sport is developing a partnership with the 2011 Canada Winter Games Host Society in Halifax to forge a relationship for community engagement leading up to the Games.
