For centuries, participation in sport has been associated with the development of moral character.  Recognizing the potential for schools to enhance this development through sport, the Character Community Foundation of York Region, in collaboration with the York Region District School Board, the York Catholic District School Board and a host of other community contributors, developed a series of engaging and insightful lesson plans based on media literacy expectations.  By dedicating a few classroom periods to the following carefully planned instructional opportunities, teachers and students will benefit from this integrated approach.
